Deceptive Practices

The deceptive practices provision of the West Virginia Consumer Credit and Protection Act do not apply to educational and recreational services offered by religious institutions, the state’s Supreme Court ruled. The state’s Attorney General had alleged the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston violated the Act by knowingly employing sexual abusers and hiding that danger.
