HOUSTON (CN) - A grand jury has declined to indict Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson for allegedly pushing two off-duty police officers at a Houston club in July.
Harris County prosecutors charged Peterson with a misdemeanor over allegations that he scuffled with the security officers at Live! At Bayou Place shortly after the downtown Houston bar closed at 2 a.m. on July 7.
The grand jury's decision not to indict means that Peterson's charge will be dismissed, Harris County prosecutor Sarah Roberts told the Houston Chronicle.
A native of Palestine, Texas, Peterson leads the NFL in rushing this season with 1,128 yards through 10 games.
