SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission has suspended Gary Peel's license. Peel, formerly with the Lakin Law Firm of Wood River, is serving 12 years in federal prison for bankruptcy fraud, obstruction of justice and possession of child pornography, charges that came from a bitter divorce battle in which Peel tried to blackmail his ex-wife with nude pictures of her sister he took decades before, when the sister was a teen-ager. The Commission's decision is a formality for attorneys convicted of felonies.
