HONOLULU — A federal court in Hawaii found the government liable for its doctors’ failure to diagnose and treat an infant who had dangerous intestinal blockage. The doctors did not order the proper scan or tests that would have detected the blockage in time, nor did they perform the surgery that would have prevented the removal of most of the girl’s small intestine; as a result she suffered brain and heart injuries.
