HOUSTON (CN) - National Tire and Battery fired him when he refused to follow orders to persuade customers to get new brakes when their vehicles don't need them, a former manager claims in Harris County Court.
Abner Rodriguez, who worked for the company for 14 years and was managing four of their shops when he was fired, says NTB instructed him to recommend new brakes even if his customers' vehicles weren't inspected. NTB started this policy as a "by-product of the recession," Rodriguez says.
Rodriguez "refused to perform this illegal act of fraud" and was fired, he says.
He is represented by Gregg Rosenberg.
