EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (CN) - A man who stole more than $100,000 in tickets to post-season Cardinals games in 2006, including the World Series, pleaded guilty to federal mail and wire fraud in federal court.
Timothy P. Kebel, 34, of O'Fallon, Ill., admitted to using two computers and multiple e-mail addresses to win bids on the tickets. He disputed the charges by claiming he never got the tickets and got his money back. He then resold the tickets through eBay.
Kebel faces up to 20 years in prison on each charge at his Nov. 5 sentencing.
