SANTA MONICA (CN) - Elizabeth Hirschhorn claims she showed International Creative Management agent Joanne Freedman a long excerpt from a novel she had written, and Freedman showed it to Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim, who used it to sell a pilot TV script to ABC.
Hirschhorn's Superior Court complaint does not name her novel or the TV show, which she says ran for 2 years after ABC unveiled it on Jan. 31, 2008.
She demands punitive damages for breach of confidence and unjust enrichment. Freedman, ICM, Berlanti and Guggenheim are named as defendants; ABC is not.
Hirschhorn is represented by James Spertus.
