WASHINGTON (CN) - The Electronic Privacy Information Center sued the Federal Trade Commission for information on possible conflicts of interest and privacy implications of the FTC's review of the merger of Google and DoubleClick. The federal FOIA complaint says the FTC Chairwoman Deborah Platt Majoras is a former partner, and her husband is still a partner, with the Jones Day law firm, which is "advising DoubleClick ... on the international and U.S. antitrust and competition law aspects of its planned $3.1 billion acquisition by Google".
