KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A federal court in Kansas granted VoteAmerica and Voter Participation Center’s request for a preliminary injunction to block enforcement of two provisions of a new law that was set to go into effect on Jan. 1. The provisions bar people or organizations outside of Kansas from distributing advanced-voting applications to Kansans and also prohibit the distribution of mail-in-ballot applications that already have personalized information filled in.
