Unregistered Dealer Stole Millions From Old People

DENVER (CN) - An unregistered securities dealer who runs Loveland-based Global Marketing Consultants stole millions from the elderly, the SEC says. William Thomas lied about his prime-bank scheme, claiming it was fully insured and would pay a "high rate of return."

He was sentenced to 3½ years in federal prison and ordered to pay $4.4 million in restitution in a related criminal action.
