LOS ANGELES (CN) - The Service Employees International Union claims 10 of its officers diverted $3 million to "a sham organization under their exclusive control ... a 'workers and patients education fund'" that was set up "not to educate anyone, but to serve as a vehicle through which defendants could run a parallel off-the-books labor organization".
