WASHINGTON - The U.S. population on Jan. 1, 2008 will be 303,146,284, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates, up 2,842,103, or 0.9 percent, from a year ago. It predicts a net increase of one person every 13 seconds in the new year: one birth every 8 second, one death every 13 seconds, and one immigrant every 30 seconds.
