EL PASO, Texas — In a case in which Ysleta del Sur Pueblo tribal police arrested a man after finding a meth pipe in his car during a traffic stop, an appeals court in Texas ruled that evidence obtained during that search must be suppressed because the officers’ actions went beyond their limited authority respecting the detention of non-Indians.
