OLATHE, Kan. (CN) – Three families have sued the gun shop that sold guns and ammunition to a man who went on a killing spree at a shopping mall, after buying the guns with a credit card he stole from a woman who already had been killed. The families filed separate complaints against Shawnee Gun Shop dba The Bullet Hole, of Overland Park, Kan.
David Logsdon killed two people and wounded seven at a Kansas City shopping mall on April 29, 2007, before police shot and killed him.
The families in these cases say the gun shop had no business selling Logsdon the guns and ammo, as he bought them with a credit card issued to Patricia Reed, who already had been killed. Logsdon is believed to have killed her.
The subsequent killings happened at the Ward Parkway Shopping Center.
Luke Nilges was shot to death as he sat in his car. Pamela Bryant-Bush was shot repeatedly and wounded. These families are represented by Jessica Agnella with Randy James & Associates of Lee’s Summit, Mo.
Leslie Noble Ballew was shot to death in her car. Her family is represented by Cassie Carpenter with the Wirken Law Group of Kansas City, Mo.
All three claims were filed in Johnson County Court, Kan.
