MANHATTAN (CN) - UMG Recordings and Universal Music Group defrauded Swing era musicians of millions of dollar by phony accounting and other systematic abuses, the estates of Count Basie, Sarah Vaughn, Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, Les Brown, Frankie Laine and others claim in New York County Court. Also suing are living artists Patti Page and Dick Hyman.
