WASHINGTON (CN) - Certain U.S. Government overseas posts may appoint local staff as contracting officers for federal acquisitions at $25,000 and below, according to a new State Department regulation.
The officers would be selected non-U.S. citizens, such as foreign nationals and third country nationals. The change is meant to permit streamlined procurement processes at the agency's overseas posts.
