LOS ANGELES (CN) - Huy Fong Foods claims Great Golden River violates trademark on its squeeze bottle with a green cap, which Huy Fong uses for its "Sriracha Hot Sauce."
Huy Fong makes its hot sauce in a plant in Rosemead and has six U.S. trademarks for its and its bottles, it says in its federal claim. It was founded in L.A. in 1980 and has grown into an international company.
It claims the defendant, based in San Jose and West Palm Beach, Fla., and co-defendants L&D Enterprise, of Vietnam, are selling their own stuff in knockoff bottles. Huy Fong also sued Great Golden River's marketing director David Do.
