Sports Jock Sues Brillstein CEO

MANHATTAN (CN) – Sports radio talk show host Max Kellerman claims Brillstein Entertainment Partners CEO Jon Liebman extorted Kellerman’s agent, the William Morris Agency, to punish the agency for providing truthful evidence to support Kellerman’s claim that Brillstein violated the California Talent Agencies Act when it managed him.

Kellerman says he fired Brillstein as his manager in the summer of 2006. He claims Liebman, though a resident of California, is subject to the jurisdiction of the New York County Court because Liebman is a member of the New York Bar.
Kellerman claims that William Morris “is charging Kellerman a 10% commission, but it is in fact working for a 5% commission. As Kellerman’s fiduciary, WMA has an obligation [to] pass this savings on to Kellerman, rather than paying it to BEP. However, it has been forced to pay those monies to BEP.”
Kellerman is represented by Judd Burstein.
