MIAMI - A settlement with MCCI Group Holdings related to claims that it violated the False Claims Act should be enforced, a federal judge ruled, rejecting a magistrate's recommendation.
The settlement provides the United States with $1.6 million, and 25 percent of that amount will go to Marc Osheroff as the relator of the qui tam action. Osheroff's counsel will get $300,000 in fees and costs.
U.S. District Judge Robert Scola Jr. noted that the U.S. government should also be given an opportunity to consent to dismissal based on the settlement.
