LOS ANGELES (CN) - A grand jury has indicted a top Los Angeles Unified School District manager on charges that he directed construction business to his own consulting company.
Bassam Raslan was charged with nine counts, The Los Angeles Times reported. The indictment also challenged the district for failing to prevent Raslan's alleged actions.
"LAUSD knew of this but did not direct Mr. Raslan's supervisors to take action or implement specific policies to prevent" the conflict, the grand jury said.
Raslan was a key member of the school district's construction team who also had ties to the consulting company TBI Associates, the Times reported.
