Sacred land to be mined

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) — The Ninth Circuit upholds an Arizona court’s denial of an Apache nonprofit’s challenge to a deal that would commence copper mining on land the tribe holds sacred. The Native Americans did not show how the land exchange would force its members to abandon their religion or act contrary to their beliefs.
