LAS VEGAS — A federal judge in Nevada denied former CAMEO band members’ claims as to their right to use the name of the funk group. Founding frontman Larry Blackmon has continued to promote the name as a manager and member and performed thousands of live shows; since the former members cannot show evidence of an effort to promote the band or its name after their departures, they haven’t established continued ownership rights.
