Prüfung

The sculpture “Prüfung” (literally "Examination," now known as "Folly of War") sits in the southern aisle of what remains of the Church of St. Nicholas in Hamburg, Germany. Briefly the tallest building in the world, the church was nearly destroyed during Allied bombings in World War II. Today, what remains has been preserved as a memorial against war, while an elevator has been installed in the tower to offer visitors panoramic views of this historic port city.
