Premeditated murder

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Supreme Court ruled against Stephen Allwine, upholding the former church elder's conviction for murdering his wife and staging it to look like a suicide, after he had attempted to hire a hitman to kill her. Allwine’s right hand tested positive for gunshot residue and he had searched on the dark web for scopolamine, which was found in large quantities in his wife’s system after her death.
