Police Misconduct

An appeals court in Florida ruled that an insurer did not have a duty to indemnify two police officers who were found liable in a civil rights suit brought by an individual who was wrongfully convicted, at the age of 15, of murder and sentenced to life in prison. The insurance policies were not in effect when the misconduct occurred.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — An appeals court in Florida ruled that an insurer did not have a duty to indemnify two police officers who were found liable in a civil rights suit brought by an individual who was wrongfully convicted, at the age of 15, of murder and sentenced to life in prison. The insurance policies were not in effect when the misconduct occurred.
