Police baton

DENVER — An appeals court in Colorado vacated a defendant’s conviction for disarming a peace office, finding that police batons don’t fall under the relevant statute. However, the defendant, who removed the police baton and grabbed but did not remove the officer’s firearm, was properly convicted of attempting to disarm a peace officer, the court ruled.
