LOS ANGELES (CN) - A paparazzo sued Kanye West, claiming the singer knocked him down at LAX airport and tried to "wrestle the camera" from his hands.
Daniel Ramos sued West in Superior Court.
Ramos claims he was standing with "other professional photographers" at Los Angeles International Airport at around 2 p.m. on July 13 when he saw West come out of the terminal.
"Plaintiff Ramos, standing about 10 feet away from defendant, called out to defendant West repeatedly asking him, 'Can we talk to you?'" Ramos says in his lawsuit.
It continues: "Defendant West stopped walking and turned and spoke to plaintiff Ramos. Without warning or provocation, defendant West suddenly attacked, punching plaintiff Ramos and attempting to wrestle the camera from plaintiff Ramos's hands. Ramos held onto his camera and fell down onto his knees onto the paved sidewalk with enough force that he sustained injuries to his right hip, as well as accompanying pain and emotional distress."
Ramos seeks punitive damages for assault, battery, negligence and interfering with his right to pursue a lawful occupation.
He is represented by Gloria Allred.
