No name clearing

CINCINNATI — The Sixth Circuit affirmed the dismissal of due process claims brought against Rossford Exempted Village Schools in Ohio by a former assistant principal and athletic director who alleges the school district violated his rights by releasing a redacted investigative report about sexual harassment claims against him and refusing him a name-clearing hearing.

The report had to be released under Ohio’s public records law and the plaintiff has “no constitutionally protected interest which entitles him to a name clearing hearing,” the court ruled.
