SAN FRANCISCO — The Ninth Circuit upheld a judgment in favor of a Washington school district after its principal threatened a teacher with disciplinary action if he wore his MAGA hat to future training sessions. The principal’s dislike of the political message does not outweigh the teacher’s First Amendment rights, so claims against her survive, but the teacher did not establish that the principal acted out of some unconstitutional school district policy, so it prevails on his claims.
