MANHATTAN (CN) - NBC Universal Inc. filed an action against Broadcast Music Inc. Monday, asking a federal judge to establish reasonable fees for putting performances of BMI's music onto NBC's Web site.
The complaint says the previous agreement ended in 2004 and that since then, advertising revenues have dropped sharply, including a widely reported loss of up-front ad revenue for the 2005 season totalling almost $1 billion.
The petition was filed by Bruce Rich with Weil Gotshal.
