Missouri Court Blocks Auction of Home for $10

(CN) - A Missouri woman who lost her house convinced the state court of appeals to block the re-sale of the home for $10.

Sun Ye Webster's home was repossessed by the sheriff after she failed to pay a judgment for unpaid homeowners' association dues totaling $1,613.

The sheriff auctioned the house, and S & P Properties Inc. had the high bid of $10. The appraised value is $110,500.

Webster sought to overturn the sale, on the grounds that the price was grossly inequitable. The trial court and Judge Romines agreed.

"If a sale price is grossly inadequate, the sale can be set aside on those grounds alone," Romines wrote.
