Marriott Data Breach

A federal court in Maryland ruled that the City of Chicago has standing to pursue its claims against Marriott International relating to a data breach by hackers who made off with passport numbers, credit card information and other personal data. The city ordinance under which Chicago has filed suit is constitutional, the court ruled.
