HOUSTON (CN) - Two Harris County Sheriff's deputies looked on while another deputy beat a handcuffed man, breaking two bones in his face, then bragged that he had "beat the shit out of" the man, who had been arrested for a misdemeanor, the alleged victim claims in Federal Court. He says the county denied him medical care and stalled for a year before charging deputy Mike Medina with a felony.
Michael LaGatta says Medina has been charged with felony assault, for beating him, and also had been accused of beating a detainee previously.
He demands punitive damages for civil rights violations. He is represented by David Kahne.
