MANHATTAN (CN) – Prosecutors charged a Bronx man with pimping out the 16-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by former Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor. The NFL Hall of Famer was arrested last week and charged with statutory rape and patronizing a prostitute.
According to the criminal complaint, Rasheed Davis told the girl to tell “Client-1” that she was 19 years old. Though Client-1 is not named in Davis’ indictment, his description matches details in the statutory rape case against Taylor.
Prosecutors say Davis became the girl’s pimp last month, offering her ecstasy pills and a place to live in exchange for her services as a prostitute and for $150 a week in rent. Last week he advertised her prostitution services on online classifieds and took semi-nude pictures of her to send to potential customers, according to the complaint.
Prosecutors say the girl initially refused to have sex with Client-1, so Davis beat her into submission, drove her to a hotel and waited outside in a van for her. That night, she texted relatives for help, according to the complaint.
Police in Ramapo, N.Y., arrested Taylor, 51, at a Holiday Inn on May 6, and charged him with rape and patronizing a prostitute. The complaint against Davis says Client-1 waived his Miranda rights and admitted to paying the underage prostitute $300 after he had sex with her.
Taylor chronicled his addiction to drugs, which caused two NFL suspensions, in a 2003 autobiography. Reportedly off drugs, Taylor appeared as a contestant on last season’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
