ATLANTA (CN) - An attorney who says he specializes in representing professional boxers claims world champion Roy Jones Jr. owes him money from three bouts.
James Thomas II claims that Jones agreed to pay him "a sum equal to five percent of (his) gross income from (his) Boxing Activities" in exchange for "advice and counseling regarding his Boxing Activities." (Parentheses in complaint.)
Thomas says Jones hasn't paid him for his bouts against Anthony Hanshaw in 2007 and Felix Trinidad, this year.
Jones won world titles in the middleweight, super middleweight and light heavy weight division.
Thomas describes himself in the complaint as "an attorney specializing in the representation of professional athletes generally and professional boxers in particular."
He is represented in Fulton County Superior Court by Cary Ichter with Adorno & Yoss.
