Info Demanded on Doomed Flight

CHICAGO (CN) - With the fate of Malaysian Airlines Flight MH 370 hanging, the father of a man on board sued the airline and Boeing, seeking information about the flight, the crew and the plane.

Flight MH 370, a Boeing 777, disappeared about 7 hours into its March 7 flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Because unidentified and uncollected debris has appeared, the plane is believed to have crashed in the Indian Ocean, with 239 people aboard, all of whom presumably perished.

Dr. Januari Siregar sued Malaysian Airlines and Boeing on Tuesday for the presumed death of his son, Firman Chandra Siregar.

The Verified Petition for Discovery, in Cook County Court, seeks documents about the aircraft, its owners and maintenance history, "production of documents identifying each and every individual or entity who provided the pilot and co-pilot of the subject, or either of them, with any training or instruction," and documents about the plane's manufacture, its communications system, and crew.
