Indiana Judge Suspended for Lashing Out at Family

(CN) – The Indiana Supreme Court suspended Allen Superior Court Judge Kenneth Scheibenberger for three days without pay after he lashed out at a man he believed was involved in the drug-related death of his son at the man’s sentencing hearing.     “Are you related to that piece of shit? Law-abiding citizen, my ass! He’ll get what’s coming to him,” Judge Scheibenberger shouted at the family at the end of the hearing after calling the man a drug dealer.      The man was being sentenced on a weapon’s charge.      The Indiana Commission on Judicial Qualification’s noted in its decision that the judge acted as a grieving parent, that he did not intend to confront the man and his family, and that he cooperated with the commission’s investigation.
