Hospice Provider Says HHS Cheats

TULSA (CN) – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services cheats companies that provide hospice care for the terminally ill by demanding repayment of Medicare payments, though a federal court has told HHS that’s illegal, New Frontier Hospice claims in Federal Court. It claims HHS Secretary Michael Leavitt demanded $926,000 from it despite the 2007 order in Sojourn Care v. Michael Leavitt.

New Frontier is represented by Gene Griffin.
