Grisly Allegations At Tulsa Clinic

TULSA (CN) - A medical technician at Laureate Psychiatric Clinic sexually assaulted a suicidal patient who had been sedated, and when she complained of it, a nurse and staff told her she had hallucinated, the late woman's husband says. He says Clayton C. Lewis sexually assaulted two other patients, and that the clinic hired him despite his "prior felony convictions, numerous protective orders granted against him and prior allegations of sexual misconduct."

Plaintiff Joe Teague says the clinic discharged his late wife after blowing off her complaints of sexual assault, failing to treat her for the assault, and that it "inappropriately discharged her with lethal doses of medication and without adequate social services and/or the screening of a follow-up care plan." She had to spend a winter's night, "without full clothing," in the neighborhood around the clinic, the complaint states.

He claims that during the 5 days his wife was hospitalized, another patient told her that Lewis had sexually assaulted her and a third woman, all in the Laureate Clinic.

The complaint in Tulsa County Court does not state how the late Jessica Toman died. Lead defendant is the clinic's corporate parent, St. Francis Health System.

The husband is represented by C. Scott Lofits with Boettecher, Martin of Ponca City.
