WASHINGTON – The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has announced plans to change the status of the golden conure, an Amazonian bird related to the parrot, from endangered to threatened, and will allow for the import and export of the bird in certain cases following a settlement with the American Federation of Aviculture.
