OLYMPIA, Wash. — Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced Tuesday a federal judge in the state ordered Northwest ICE Processing Center operator The GEO Group to pay $5.9 million gained through the use of $1-a-day labor by detainees since 2005. The award comes just days after a jury ordered the company to pay $17.3 million in back pay to 10,000 individuals who were detained at the facility.
