Gas on the Water

WASHINGTON (CN) - Owners of liquefied natural gas and liquefied hazardous gas terminals soon may be required submit a Waterway Suitability Assessment to the Coast Guard when they apply for construction of such a facility with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

The assessment must document all aspects of the proposed facility's security arrangements, and is necessary before the FERC will begin to process a license application.
