DENVER — The 10th Circuit upheld an order requiring Oklahoma to release and give Karl Allen Fontenot a new trial. Fontenot was convicted of the 1984 kidnapping, robbery and murder of Donna Denice Haraway, but almost no evidence linked him to the crime other than his videotaped confession, which “rang false in almost every particular.”
