Ex-Kids’ Museum Worker Sent Child Porn

MANHATTAN (CN) – A former employee of the National Children’s Museum was sentenced to 5 years in prison on Thursday for distributing child pornography over the Internet, federal prosecutors said.

Robert A. Singer, 50, of Falls Church, Va., pleaded guilty on March 10 to one count of distributing kiddie porn, the U.S. Attorneys Office said. He entered a member-created AOL chat room called “Cuties” and sent child pornography to an NYPD detective who was posing as a mother of two girls, along with the message, “luv trading pics of cuties. like to trade some?” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a statement. It says that one of the nine pornographic images of children Singer sent has been identified as a victim of child exploitation by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Singer also was fined $12,500 and must serve 5 years of supervised release after he does his time.
