EU Inflation Up

Annual inflation in the European Union rose to 3.7% in May, a rise attributable especially to food and energy prices. The main components of the hike are food, transport and housing while the cost of communications fell by -1.7% from the price a year ago in May. In terms of price stability, the Netherlands and Denmark led the way with the lowest average inflation rate, at 1.7% and 2.3%.
