Former Providence police Officer Peter Yee says he was fired for complaining of racial discrimination, including having Chinese food and a dead cat thrown into his car, in Providence, R.I., Federal Court.

Class-action complaints alleging Labor Code violations have been filed against these defendants: Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, in San Diego Federal Court; Palm Inc., in Santa Clara County Court, Calif.; Cacique Distributors, and Pacific Ambulance, in Los Angeles Superior Court; Verizon Wireless, in Little Rock Federal Court; Family Dollar Stores, and United Rentals, in Hartford Federal Court; The Pacific Gardens Mission, and Resurrection Healthcare and Saint Joseph Hospital, in Chicago Federal Court; American Pest Management, in Pinellas County Court, Fla.; and Florida Bow Tie Thrusters, in Panama City Federal Court.

(Companies not separated by commas are defendants in the same case.)
