(CN) - The U.S. economy added 201,000 jobs in August, up from 147,00 in July, the Labor Department said Friday.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate held steady at 3.9 percent.
Average hourly private-sector earnings were up 2.9 percent over the previous year. In August, they were up 2.7 percent.
