A federal court in Louisiana denied a correctional officer’s request to dismiss claims brought by the family of a 19-year-old woman with a serious blood disease who was denied her medicine and medical attention, despite being seen sitting on the floor of the shower surrounded by blood, and died in pretrial detention.
