NEW ORLEANS — The Fifth Circuit found that a U.S. federal court has jurisdiction over a lawsuit against a Japanese firm whose container shipping charter crashed into a vessel, killing seven American sailors. Because the company does business here, employs some workers here and litigates in American courts, it has sufficient contacts to establish personal jurisdiction.
