DAYTON, Ohio (CN) - A black man who was chasing a stray dog near his house says Springfield police officers assaulted and battered him on the false claim that he had bumped into one of them during the pursuit. Then, he says, the cops handcuffed him and forced him to stand in the road, where he was run over by an ambulance, which proceeded to run over and kill the stray dog too.
Sean Lamont Cameron seeks punitive damages from the Springfield Police Department. He alleges assault and battery, recklessness, excessive force, intentional infliction of emotional distress, medical indifference, and gross negligence. He is represented in Federal Court by James Greene III.
